LOTF...Blog 7

These two chapters are full of irony. The first is that the whole fighting between groups was all caused by fire: who would take care of it and who would get more wood for it. It was a big hassle that everybody had to be a part of. The irony of this is that at the end of chapter twelve Jack’s group tried to kill Ralph with fire and the whole fighting started with fire.

Piggy’s death was by far the worst thing that happened in the book. It was the climax of the story and after that it went downhill from there. After Piggy died SamnEric were forced to join Jacks group and Ralph was in the middle of a spear fight with Jack. That night SamnEric told Ralph that the group planned on hunting him like a wild animal tomorrow. At this point I expected this to happen. Jack would get bored with pigs and start to go after humans instead.

The dues ex machine or the officer that came to Ralph’s rescue came just at the perfect time. As a reader it does bother me that he did not come sooner and in the end it all fell together, but I guess then there would not be a book to read. The officer got them out of there in time or I would have predicted that the boys would have eventually killed Ralph after a long hunt. After they killed Ralph they would get tired of hunting animals and they would all start to hunt themselves starting with Jack.

In the end, Lord of The Flies was by far the best book I read this year. It had a fast rhythm to it that kept the reader reading. I recommend this book because it was well executed and left nothing out about the places and parts in society; and what might happen if the levels start to overrule each other.
