LOFT...Blog 2

Ralph thinks about what he needs to do and what he needs to ask of the group. He is the first one to realize that since there is no grown- ups that they have to look after themselves. When the boys meet again it is Ralph’s idea to have hunters always hunting for food. He had a bunch of rules for the group like; you cannot talk out of turn unless you have the conch. Jack, who is already turning into a savage, wants to punish any of the rule breakers with violence.

After the latest feud between the groups they finally realize that it might not be awhile or not at all until they get rescued or if anybody even knows they are there. While the group is discussing about if they will get rescued a little boy with a birthmark on his neck wanted to say something, but was too scared to talk. After he stopped crying the little boy said something that frightened the entire group. He said that he saw a “beastie” or monster in the jungle when they first arrived. The older did not want to believe him, but they did not show it. The little ones did believe him and were very scared.

After the scare that the boys had they had the idea of putting a fire on the mountain so a ship would maybe see it. The boys all gathered fire wood to build a giant bon- fire. They started it with Piggy’s glasses. The fire grew and grew and grew until it started the trees next to it on fire. The boys tried to put it out, but it was too late. After the boys meet up after the fire they find out that the boy with the birthmark is missing. The boy had died in the fire. Then the boys face the reality of that this is real and that they need to survive together.
