LOTF...Blog 6

Savages are starting to take over the group. The whole group is now two and the grouping are now feuding. Jack the chief of the group that broke off is now celebrating the first kill on the island. Jack the chief of the savages takes the blood from the pig and rubs it all over himself like an animal. I think this foreshadows the beginning of the end for the boys on the island.

The boys leave the pig head on a stick for the beastie hoping that it would take it instead of them. Simon was thinking. Something was telling him that he needed to run away from this place. Simon who symbolizes a Christ-like figure with his knowledge and his wisdom he gives to the other boys. He walks down to the beach where there is Jack and his group of savages dancing and celebrating their feast. Ralph and Piggy were there too, but they left as soon as Jack asked them to be in his savage group. Ralph and Piggy went back to camp with SamnEric.

The Christ- like Simon came out of the jungle onto the beach in the dark. Jack, with his savage instincts, stabbed him multiple times with the rest of the group. The boys thought it was the beastie they saw earlier on the mountain, but what they do not know is that the beastie on the mountain was actually the dead pilot moving around in the breeze. After the group had brutally killed the so- called beastie but was actually Simon. The savages had the plan of attacking Jacks group.
Right now the boys are starting a civil war with each other. The two groups are fighting over the little things and Jacks group is starting to become violent with the other. Late at night Jacks goes and raids Ralph’s group. He beats them and kicks them, but Ralph and SamnEric decide to fight back. Both groups end the fighting and Jack’s group retreats to the side of the beach. Piggy realizes that Jack had taken his glasses. The glasses symbolize civilization for Ralph’s group and without that it makes it a lot harder to survive.
